The American School of Bangkok

Aug 2018 - Present

  • Homeroom teacher to 16 students of various nationalities aged 3-4.

  • Responsibilities include planning lessons in line with school standards, curriculum mapping, managing a classroom budget, planning and teaching a weekly science club to students aged 3-7 and attending/supervising various school events such as charity fundraisers and professional development training, as well as teaching students via virtual learning (since March 2020).

English Program in Korea (EPIK)

Aug 2014 – Aug 2017

  • Teaching/co-teaching 22 hours a week in various Korean elementary and middle schools under the direct employment of the Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education (GMOE). Creating multimedia lesson plans using PowerPoint presentations, realia and interactive games. Class sizes varied from 5 - 40 students.

  • Assessing student ability through one-on-one R/W/L/S tests.

  • Planning, budgeting, and leading 1-2 week English Camps and workshops for students of all ages (elementary-high school).

Sarasas Witaed Bangbon School – International Program (Bangkok)

Oct 2013 – Jul 2014

  • Homeroom teacher to 11 students ranging in age from 3 - 5.

  • Planning and leading lessons without curriculum guidance to cover subjects including: English, Science, Mathematics and Social Studies.

Mukdahan School (Isaan)

  • 16 teaching hours a week for classes ranging in age from 14 - 18.

  • Leading Conversational English and Reading/Writing lessons based on a set curriculum.

Hujiang (China) (Part Time)

Dec 2017 – March 2018

  • Online ESL teacher for Chinese students ranging in age from 3 - 14. Lessons delivered one-on-one using an interactive platform and lesson plans provided by the company.

Q.I English (Korea) (Part Time)

Aug 2016 – Aug 2017

  • Debate instructor to a small class of middle school students on Saturday mornings.

  • Focus was placed on research skills, critical thinking, essay writing, public speaking and debate etiquette.

Arpar Pattana International Language School (Bangkok) (Part Time)

  • Independently teaching 8 Conversational English classes to students of a wide age range on Saturdays. Lesson plans were provided.

  • Classical Civilisations 102 tutor. Responsibilities included teaching a class of 12 university students once a week for an hour: taking attendance, answering questions about course content and grading weekly assignments/ term-essays/ tests.

2016 - 2018

  • 1 year completed of a 2-year online correspondence program to earn my teaching certification in South Africa. At the time of program discontinuation, I held an 81% grade average and achieved distinctions in 7/8 modules.

Rhodes University Bachelor of Social Science Degree

  • Double major: (1) Political & International Relations (2) Classical Civilisations (with distinction). My degree has been evaluated by the WES and found to be the equivalent of a 4-year American bachelors degree.
